Collection: Tomica

Tomica, a portmanteau of "Tomy" and "car," is a line of die-cast toy vehicles produced by the toy company Tomy starting in 1970 and by Takara Tomy after the 2006 merger. Tomica is believed to have originated as an offshoot of Plarail, which has been producing railroad toys since 1959.

These toy cars are comparable to the Western Hot Wheels and Matchbox lines. Over the years, Tomica has released various lines, including toys based on real-world vehicles of all kinds, more fantastical ones, licensed characters such as Disney, and numerous tracks and playsets.
